Frequently Asked Questions

What is ITF?

ITF is the International TaekwonDo Federation. This form of TaekwonDo is very traditional, stemming from the Teachings of General Choi Hong Hi.

How old do you have to be to participate?

Students are generally ages 5+ however younger students are encouraged to try the class as young as 3, so long as they are able to follow direction and retain the information. There is no upper age limit, and we highly encourage parents taking classes with their children.

Is TaekwonDo just for kids?

TaekwonDo is for all ages. Several parents participate with their children. This is also a great activity to keep adults in shape, and practice healthy living.

What if I already have a belt from another form of TaekwonDo or School?

Generally, if the belt rank you have comes from an ITF school, you will keep your rank. If the belt comes from an ITF adjacent federation such as GTF, ATFI, OATF, etc. you may have to drop back a belt, or remain at your current rank for longer so that you have time to learn the differences between that federation and ITF. If you are coming from a WT or Olympic Style TaekwonDo, you will be evaluated based on ability and information retention to place your ITF Belt. While your rank in WT will always be your rank, we do not want to cheat you by placing you above your ability or knowledge in ITF
